The grape varieties used to prepare Contrada Vallone come from the oldest vineyard of Rio Maggio, just a few steps from the winery. A blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese, this special red wine is structured and pleasant to drink. The fermentation is made with the classic Bordolese method for 12-15 days. Then the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 8-10 months. After the bottling, Contrada Vallone rests for 4-6 months.
The result is a strong, full-bodied red wine perfect with red meats, but also with the most delicate fish.
