Matteo Giribaldi is a young winemaker, fourth generation of a family that produces wine from 1900. Matteo became part of the team in 2006 straight after finishing the “Oenological School” in Alba. He is an enthusiastic person who loves his work and does the best to create great wines in a sustainable way. At the beginning of his career he turned all the production into organic.
Matteo didn't stop and in 2011 he started a new project: growing Pinot Nero in Langhe to make a Spumante, “Alta Langa”, a real work of art.
But Matteo thinks that the real essence of Piedmont is in a precise wine: Barolo. So in 2012 he bought a piece of land and made a single vineyard Barolo; now he produces two single vineyards, "Barolo Ravera” and "Barolo Cerviano Merli”.
A wine is the reflection of the people who make it, those who work in the vineyard, those who work day and night in the winery during the harvest. A wine tells a long story of joys and fears, risks and success. All of this and much more is inside Matteo's bottles.
Vini Giribaldi means family and craftsmanship. Family, not just because Mario, Giovanna, Matteo and Alessandra are the third and fourth generation of a family that for years has been dedicated to the cultivation of their land, but above all for the union and sharing of goals, dreams and values that they try to transfer in their wines. And craftsmanship, because the organic wines from Vini Giribaldi are personally followed, step by step, with the passion that only those who deeply love their work are able to give.
