A few days ago our winemakers Luca and Sara Carbone announced they will take a step back. They want to be conscious artisans.

What does all this mean? To produce even better, to follow more closely the work in the vineyard and in the winery, they reduce the production.

A step back is never easy, and, as pointed out by Luciano Pignataro in his wineblog, deserves praise:

The growth of volumes is not in itself a positive value, the aim of the craftsman has to be to appreciate each wine not producing so many to follow the requests. Only in this way he will be a leader instead of a follower.

Less hectares of vineyards, a few hectares treated like children, characterized by a great biodiversity. That 's what Luca and Sara are doing with the project "Farmers of the lost fruit" that you can support through our website. To date they have planted apple trees, figs, cherries, new plants and lost plants. In the future there will be also a little house for the bees in the vineyard.

A praise from us, as well. Is it 'the right choice? Will they be lucky? We do not know, but, quoting Gianni Rodari, we can only wish them, with all our heart, "Buon viaggio!".
